Al-Makura Promises to Stand as Guarantor to SMEs

In an effort to boost the economic growth of Nasarawa State, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura, of has promise to stand as a guarantor to any serious group or individual entrepreneurs to help them access bank loan.

The governor made the commitment on Monday in a parley with representatives of commercial banks in the state preparatory to the introduction of Treasury Single Account (TSA).

He said that his administration will work to ensure that the target beneficiaries are into small scale business enterprises that will
boost the economy of the state and increase revenue and also improve the living standard of the people of the state.

He also disclosed that government has no plans to disengage any worker but will work assiduously to fish out ghost workers and check leakages that have drained the state of millions of tax payer’s money.

Al-makura assured the bankers of good working relationship and urged them to assist government in diversification of the economy due to the present economic realities.

Speaking on behalf of the banks, Babatunde Oladipo manager Keystone bank promised that the bank will assist the state government in

bringing sanity to the system while urging the state to help in the provision of electricity and removal of unnecessary tax.
