Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the upper chamber has vowed to pass another vote of confidence on Senate President Bukola Saraki following his alleged false assets declaration trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT)
PDP Senators, during a meeting held on Monday, discussed the fate of Saraki’s trial at the CCT and also called on the Federal Government to give Saraki a benefits of doubt.
Sources privy to the meeting said that they (PDP Senators) were ready to pass another vote of confidence on Saraki.
“As members of the opposition, we are ready to pass another vote of confidence in Saraki because he is truly a stabilising factor in the nation’s legislature.
“He commands a lot of respect among majority of members. He is accessible and he carries everyone along, not minding your political party or group affiliation within the Senate.
“So, as PDP senators, we believe that the Senate President should be given the benefit of the doubt as he pleads his case before the tribunal”, the Senator said.
