President Muhammadu Buhari has ratified the appointment of a former member of the House of Representatives, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, as his Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.
Dabiri-Erewa was a former Chair of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs and Chair of the House Committee on Media and Publicity.
The former broadcaster, who was born in Jos, Plateau State, was elected to the House of Representatives, representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos State in 2003.
She was re-elected in 2007 and 2011.
She attended Maryland Private School, Maryland, Ikeja and St. Teresa’s College, Ibadan, for her primary and secondary education respectively.
She obtained her first degree in English Language from the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, before proceeding to the University of Lagos where she obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma, PGD, in Mass Communication. She also obtained a master’s degree in Mass Communication from the same university.
Mrs.Abike-Erewa also studied at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
